Who we are

MotoMarket is a trading name of MEZA Ltd, registered in England and Wales (company number 16439188), registered office 1 St Davids Square, London, E14 3WA. MEZA Ltd is the data controller for personal data processed through MotoMarket. Contact us about privacy at support@motomarket.uk.

Who this policy covers

This policy applies when you browse MotoMarket, create an account, publish or respond to a listing, save a vehicle, make an offer, send a message, run a vehicle check, buy a history report, report content or contact support.

Our lawful bases

We process data to perform our contract with you (accounts, listings, paid reports), for our legitimate interests (marketplace safety, fraud and abuse prevention, improving the service), to meet legal obligations (tax and accounting records), and with your consent where required.

Payments

Payments for history reports are processed by Stripe. We do not see or store your full card details; we receive confirmation of payment, the amount and limited transaction details needed for records, refunds and fraud prevention.

Information we collect

We collect account information such as your email address, display name and account preferences; listing information such as photographs, descriptions, price and seller details; and activity such as saved bikes, recently viewed listings, messages, offers, reports and feedback.

Vehicle information may include a registration mark, make, model, year, engine size, colour and MOT details. Location information may include a town, county, postcode or postcode area and coordinates selected for location and distance search. Sellers can choose to hide the registration mark from the public listing.

How we use information

We process information to operate accounts and listings, verify submitted vehicle details, power search and distance filters, connect buyers and sellers, prevent misuse, respond to reports and support requests, and maintain the safety and reliability of the marketplace.

Cookies and browser storage

MotoMarket uses essential cookies and similar browser storage needed for sign-in, security, saved preferences and core site operation. This includes remembering your theme and whether you have dismissed the privacy notice. We do not use the notice itself to authorise non-essential advertising cookies.

Sharing and service providers

Listing information you publish is visible to marketplace visitors. We send registration marks to UK vehicle-data providers (including DVLA- and DVSA-sourced data services) for lookups and history reports, use Stripe for payments, OpenStreetMap Nominatim for location suggestions and Cloudflare Turnstile for bot protection. Service providers process information only as needed to provide hosting, storage, authentication, email, search, vehicle lookup, payments and related functions. Some providers may process data outside the UK under appropriate safeguards such as UK adequacy regulations or standard contractual clauses. We do not sell personal data. We may also disclose information where required by law or to protect users and the service.

How long we keep data

We keep personal data only for as long as needed for the purposes described here, including operating your account, resolving disputes, preventing fraud and meeting legal obligations. Deleting a listing removes it from normal marketplace use. Account deletion starts removal of account-linked information, although limited records may be retained where necessary for legal, security or dispute purposes.

Your UK GDPR rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may ask for access to your personal data, correction of inaccurate data, deletion, restriction or objection to processing, and a portable copy of data you provided. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw it without affecting earlier lawful processing.

Use the account settings for available profile and deletion controls, or visit Contact / Support for help with a privacy request. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. You may also raise a concern with the UK Information Commissioner’s Office.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the service or legal requirements change. The date shown at the top tells you when this version was last updated. Material changes will be presented clearly where appropriate.
